Community Guidelines

World Aquarium should feel playful, calm, creative, and safe. These guidelines apply to fish artwork, fish names, messages, release identity, sharing, and other activity in the aquarium.

At a Glance

Make fish and messages that feel welcome in a shared public aquarium.
No explicit sexual content, hateful content, graphic violence, doxxing, threats, or targeted harassment.
Use your own artwork and words; do not copy protected characters, logos, lyrics, or private information.
No bots, scripts, exploit abuse, or multi-accounting to manipulate feeds, saves, releases, or map activity.
Report harmful fish instead of escalating fights through spam or abuse.

Keep It Friendly

Create fish and messages that are fun for a wide audience.
Do not harass, bully, threaten, or target other people.
Do not use hateful symbols, slurs, or attacks based on identity or protected characteristics.

Keep It Appropriate

Do not create sexually explicit, graphically violent, illegal, or shocking content.
Do not sexualize minors, real people who appear underage, or fictional characters presented as child-like.
Do not include private personal information, passwords, addresses, phone numbers, or sensitive data.
Do not impersonate another person, brand, or organization in a misleading way.

Respect the Aquarium

Do not spam fish, automate abuse, manipulate likes/feeds, or overload map/aquarium systems.
Do not create multiple accounts to dodge limits, evade enforcement, or artificially boost fish.
Do not upload artwork, messages, names, or profile details that violate someone else's rights.
Do not attempt to bypass security, rate limits, moderation, or account protections.

Creative Rights

World Aquarium is for original, playful creations. Do not upload content you do not have permission to use, including copied characters, brand logos, long copied text, song lyrics, or someone else's private photos. If a rights or safety concern comes up, we may remove or hide the fish while we review it.

Map and Aquarium Fair Play

World Aquarium is built around discovery. Releasing fish in popular places, sharing fish, and collecting favorites is part of the fun. Using automation, coordinated spam, fake accounts, or exploit behavior to dominate the map is not.

Moderation

We may remove fish, messages, artwork, or account access when content or behavior appears unsafe, spammy, abusive, illegal, or harmful to the World Aquarium experience. Depending on severity, we may remove a fish, hide a message, limit a feature, reset manipulated engagement, temporarily suspend an account, or permanently ban an account.

Clear abuse can lead to immediate action. Repeated inappropriate fish, serious harassment, sexual content involving minors, threats, fraud, botting, or attempts to bypass security may result in a permanent ban.

Reports and Appeals

If you see harmful content, save the fish link or screenshot and contact us. If you think moderation was a mistake, explain what happened and include the account email or fish link so we can review it.

Reports are meant to protect the aquarium. Accurate reports help us find problems faster. Repeated false or abusive reports may be ignored, downweighted, or treated as abuse.
